**Job Description**:
**Volunteer Coordinator - Prestatyn - Part Time 17.5 hours per week - £25,619 pro rota**
One of the UKs largest charities is seeking an experienced part time Volunteer Coordinator to join their team in Prestatyn.

**This is a part time role working 17.5 hours per week and will pay £25,619 per annum pro rota.**

The main purpose of the Volunteer Coordinator will be to promote and implement the positive involvement of volunteers with the charity, including the coordination of recruitment, training, development and retention of volunteer Counsellors, administrators and fundraisers. Duties will include:

- Develop a continuous programme of volunteer recruitment, including the coordination of information meetings, role descriptions and assisting with interviews and selection.
- Support with reviewing and delivering training programmes.
- Keep an overview of volunteer needs with a view to maintaining commitment and retention and increasing productivity
- Take particular responsibility for specific counsellor programmes, for example young volunteers involving them in ownership, developing their commitment and recognising their achievements
- Organise volunteer conferences and social events
- Liaise with external volunteer agencies, eg CVS, local bureaus, REACH, etc
- Develop potential employee volunteering opportunities and implement
- Identify and advise on sources of funds for volunteer development and to explore potential external volunteer accreditation
- Keep an overview of volunteer records
- Analyse volunteer information and records and make recommendations as to the most effective ways of working to maximise volunteer involvement and commitment.
- To provide relevant training for staff on volunteer issues

The ideal part time Volunteer Coordinator will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

- Previous experience of recruitment, selection, training and support of volunteers
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with young people and adults at all levels, both inside and outside the agency, by telephone, in writing and in person
- Diplomacy and the ability to understand different points of view while operating within organisational priorities, policies and procedures.
- Experience of working in an inclusive and anti-oppressive framework.
- Experience of working with confidential information and material.
- Ability to prioritise, plan and organise tasks and activities effectively in order to meet deadlines and conflicting priorities
- Able to maintain accurate records and systems in an accessible and consistent way
- Able to prepare and deliver effective presentations/training events to a range of audiences
- Able to work under pressure in a changing/dynamic environment and using own initiative
