The post holder is responsible for the supervision of Linen Services and Post Services staff. The post holder must work as part of a team to ensure high standards of performance and service delivery are achieved and maintained.

The post holder is required to assist the Service Lead in the day-to-day running of the Linen and Post services team and undertaking general Linen and Post duties. They will ensure that staff are trained and equipped to deliver and actively maintain the high standards required.

We welcome drive and enthusiasm together with a flexible approach which supports staff through hands on working where required.

Due to the nature of the work this role This post holder will be based at RHCH/BNHH (cross site working may be required during periods of escalation) which includes weekends and bank holidays where required to meet service needs.
- Allocate and as necessary undertake Linen and Post duties.
- To manage / develop and monitor Linen and Post staff and their workload within shift ensuring tasks are completed in a safe & compliant manner.
- Ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the designated Linen and Post team as part of the wider Linen and Post service through the supervision and training of staff within own discipline
- Ensure required standards of Linen and Post are consistently achieved in line with Targets, Trust policies, SOP, and cleaning schedules.
- Monitor the quality of work activities undertaken by the designated team using written and IT based system through audit and working with other Trust staff groups in accordance with target, timescales & achieving KPI’s.
- Liaising with all departments/wards on tasking and planning activities, support close working relationships with clinical teams.
- Organise, plan, record and ensure completion of all day to day tasks within Linen and Post.
- Attend area huddles/ site meetings/ departmental huddles as required.
- Update and maintain Linen and Post staff rotas ensuring adequate cover is provided at all times, including weekends and public holidays.
- Liaise with Linen and Post Service Lead to submit orders for supplies of stores for your teams.
- Process ordering of Linen from external supplier. Ensure that adequate contingency stock is maintained.

- Report any faults (maintenance or other) using appropriate systems and check they are followed through.
- Liaising with all departments/wards on tasking and planning activities, support close working relationships with clinical teams.
- Undertake high level delivery of service, liaising with all departments on tasking and planning activities, support close working relationships with areas of need
- Organise, plan, record and ensure completion of deep clean / HPV / UVC program in the event there is need to decontaminate or where there are periods of increased incident.
- Attend area huddles/ site meetings/ departmental huddles as required.
- Ensure the completion of departmental management forms for example but not limited to: Annual leave requests, Sickness absence recording forms, timesheets, stock ordering, return to work forms, appraisals, tool box talks.
- Update and maintain Linen and Post staff rotas ensuring adequate cover is provided at all times, including weekends and public holidays.
- Liaise with Linen and Post Service Lead to submit orders for supplies of stores for your teams.
- Process ordering of Linen from external supplier. Ensure that adequate contingency stock is maintained.
- Top-up Franking machines with funds - report immediately if funds become unavailable to Linen and Post Service Lead and/or Deputy Facilities OSM
- Process ordering of Trust uniforms in the absence of the Uniform Administrator.
- Take part in the recruitment of domestic staff when necessary.
- Completion of COSSH/Risk assessments as instructed
