**Purpose of the role**

The Postholder will lead the Operations and Finance functions of LCiL by overseeing robust process, practice, and policy implementation on the key areas that support its effectiveness as an organisation and that will facilitate growth and development. This includes the areas of financial management, people management and development, Communications, business planning, governance, resources, and administration.

As part of the Leadership Team, you will participate in organisational strategic planning and decision making.

The postholder will have line management responsibility for the Operations Manager, the Finance Officer and the Communications and Events Officer.

This post is an essential lead role contributing to the ongoing sustainability of LCiL enabling it to take forward a new three-year strategic plan which is currently being developed.

**Main tasks and duties**

**Financial management**
- Ensure robust management of the organisation’s financial policies and procedures that supports a high standard of financial planning, processing, reporting, purchasing, authority, and delegation.
- Work alongside the CEO to create and effectively monitor annual and long-term budgeting.
- Lead on preparing and maintaining the organisation’s accounts in accordance with legal requirements and best charity accounting practices.
- Work alongside the CEO and the Services and Development Lead to ensure a strong connection between organisational and services planning, and financial sustainability.
- Oversee effective contract management for facilities and other services ensuring fit for purpose and best value for money.

**Organisation performance and governance**
- Work alongside the Services and Development Lead to oversee strong monitoring and evaluation processes that support LCiL to effectively measure performance, capture robust data and demonstrate the impact of our work.
- Lead on the planning and preparation for Board meetings which includes overseeing that all appropriate information, advice, and support for LCiL Trustees is in place, Board meeting papers, service and department reports, and Board meeting minutes are completed timely and to a high standard.
- Lead on updating and maintaining the organisation’s Risk Register.
- Coordinate the completion of the annual report, the annual audit process and AGM planning and delivery.

**Staff management and support**
- Provide line management to the Operations Manager, Finance Officer and Communications and Events Officer.
- Oversee that effective management and support is in place for the Operations team which includes Administration staff and a Credit Control Assistant.
- Provide leadership to all colleagues across the organisation.
- Oversee the development of the organisation’s People Plan.
- Ensure organisational policies and practices, staff and Board member’s handbooks and relevant guidance are implemented effectively, reviewed, compliant and accessible.
- Contribute to the developing and maintaining positive cross-teams and services relationships.
- Ensure the implementation of effective induction for new staff.
- Consult with our outsourced employment law, HR and Health and Safety support as required.

**External engagement and partnership**
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders including LCiL service users, partner agencies, organisations, contractors, and funders.
- Build effective networks with key individuals and agencies in the voluntary, public, and private sectors as appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of wider policies and political initiatives that are relevant to the delivery of LCiL services.

Pay: £35,000.00 per year
