**ServiceNow Tech Lead - Digital**

This role will be based in our Clearwater Court, Reading. However, there is an option for hybrid or remote working.

The Service Tooling team is accountable for owning and enhancing the internal ServiceNow platform, ensuring it meets the demands of the business. Working in a DevOps model, you will be the Lead Engineer providing technical leadership and oversight for the ServiceNow environment. You will ensure both the team and platform follows technical excellence.

Working alongside the Product Owner and stakeholders across the business, you will help establish the strategic direction of the platform. Stakeholder management and the ability to influence others to deliver the strategy will be key.

With an in-depth background of the ServiceNow product and its comprising components, you will use your knowledge to develop the technical skills of the team through coaching and mentoring of other engineers. You’ll provide guidance on delivering best practice, automation and innovation ensuring the platform is in an optimised state.

**What you will be doing**
- Provide technical leadership for the ServiceNow platform and, where appropriate, make technical decisions on behalf of the team
- Oversee platform stability including the resolution of platform related incidents, version upgrades, required housekeeping and pro-active maintenance
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvements (i.e. automation) and establish the approach to implement
- Lead and influence architectural & design decisions for the ServiceNow platform. Engage with senior stakeholders to understand business direction and ensure the ServiceNow strategy meets business objectives
- Build and maintain a nurturing and supportive working environment where engineers can be their best
- Coach and mentor engineers ensuring their personal development objectives are met
- Drive high-quality via peer checking of colleague’s deliverables ensuring outcomes follow best-practice and meet expected standards.

**What you should bring to this role**
- A background of team leadership with proven ability to lead a technical team and developing the technical capabilities of others
- Demonstrable experience of developing complex technical solutions upon the ServiceNow platform, with a track record of delivering a stable and functional environment that meets the needs of the business
- Be a strong communicator with proven ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders as necessary
- Ability to define and oversee the strategic direction of the ServiceNow product, including knowledge of industry trends and an understanding of the ServiceNow roadmap
- Knowledgeable in a wide range of ServiceNow modules (i.e. HR, SecOps, CMDB, Virtual Agent) and experience in obtaining the best value from them
- Familiarity with the integration of external platforms/data into ServiceNow ensuring best practice is used
- Own and manage risks related to the ServiceNow platform, where necessary ensuring appropriate mitigation is in place
- Experience of working within a DevOps environment and the related processes and controls
