**About the job**:
**Salary: £33,945 - £36,648 a year pro rata**
**Hours per week: 22.2**
**Contract type: Fixed term until 19th July 2024**

Our department are looking for someone who is able to be responsible for preparing and presenting admission appeals process in compliance with legislation and statutory guidance and service level agreements with schools.

You will be expected to be responsible for compiling the Council’s written case for admission appeals and presenting this case to the independent appeals panel - this includes when preparing a case, liaising with the head teacher to ensure the panel are given detailed and robust information on the difficulties the school would face in admitting additional pupils. As well as ensuring the panel understand the alternative options open to the parents and asking parents questions about their case in a sensitive and empathetic manner.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone who is able to produce clear and well argued, reports and letters for a range of purposes, dealing with complex issues as well as possesses skills necessary to prepare appeals cases and present them remotely and update LBC’s database.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop on your existing skills by having presentation skills - ability to present a clear, well-reasoned case in a complex and pressurised environment.

We do ask that you have evidence of continuing professional development, relevant to the role & discipline.

Applicants for this role will need to have demonstrable knowledge of issues and legislation relating to Appeals, Admissions as well as be able to manage periods of heavy work demands.
