**Main Purpose of the role**:
The role will require you to work with the ASE manager, adopt a person centered approach, work creatively and have a strong commitment to the positive health and wellbeing of young people, to reach the organisation's ambitions of “creating a service where young people’s health and wellbeing is supported and promoted holistically.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, qualified professional with significant experience in managing excellent targeted services (with a strong focus on youth EHWB and employability) to deliver an efficient and effective Programme to vulnerable and at-risk young people from across the borough.

You will be responsible for the management of a cohort of young people and their volunteer Mentors. You will match young people aged between 16 to 24 years with appropriate volunteer mentors and manage their mentoring relationship.

This role requires a flexible working pattern and you will be expected to work evenings and occasional weekends. You will also be expected to travel to different venues/locations.

**Main Responsibilities General**:

- To support the aspirations, skills and employment service to shape the youth zones vision, strategy and offer for youth work from an EHWB and mentoring perspective.
- Promote the benefits of the mentoring programme within BDYZ and across the community, including all educational establishments, community groups and BDYZ patron and partner network to recruit mentors.
- Develop and implement structures, systems and procedures to support mentors in line with the agreed policy..
- To network with external organisations such as colleges, job centres, careers centres, employers, community groups and other relevant organisations to source and secure employment, education and/or training opportunities for youth Hub participants.
- Helping young people from diverse backgrounds progress into employment, education, or training.
- To offer direct support and interventions to young people to assist them in reaching their identified goals.
- Undertaking an appropriate initial assessment with each partcicpant using a variety of tools and methods that assist in identifying the needs of the participant.
- Develop trusting relationships with young care leavers, support them to identify areas of their life they would like to change, develop or improve.
- Take responsibility for volunteer mentor recruitment, selection and matching.
- To be involved in the development and delivery of training of volunteers and support events that ensure volunteers feel valued, supported and have a sense of belonging.
