Ensuring service levels and targets are met as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands is essential.

The main responsibilities of a Registration Authority Agent include:

- Schedule visits to carry out RA functions across the local health community
- Confirm that satisfactory verification of identity has taken place or conduct variation of identity, if necessary, to comply with data protection and confidentiality guidelines
- Issue smart cards to employees of NHS Trusts in line local and national Registration Authority polices. This includes taking a photograph of the member of staff, updating their information on spine systems, printing and verifying the smart card.
- Maintain secure record filing and archive storage system of all forms relating to registration and amendment for audit purposes.
- Provide advice and support to approved sponsors and users when issues arise with the use of smartcards
- Ensure all new users are registered in acceptable timeframes and in line with agreed service level agreements
- Provide a high-quality support function and offer advice regarding reset pass codes and reissue cards as required across the health community
- Ensure national guidelines are re-issued when updates are received
- The post holder will provide an RA function to a variety of projects working with several project managers at the same time
- Be an active member of relevant project teams ensuring RA functions are effectively delivered to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope
