A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Psychotherapist to work 30 hours per week with the County CAMHS Children Looked After & Adoption Team.

This is a well established team with a strong multi disciplinary team working within an integrated service within both Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottinghamshire NHS Foundation Trust.

The role requires a qualified psychotherapist (art, drama, music) to provide an effective therapeutic service to children and young people who are ‘looked after’ or Adopted.

You will be a member of a specialist CAMHS multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team that provides specialist mental health.

You will liaise with and work collaboratively with a broad range of other disciplines and agencies.

You will offer a range of consultations, assessments and interventions to meet the needs of young people within the service.

The post covers both the County and City ( if children from Nottinghamshire County Council are placed in the City). The team offer a service to Nottinghamshire County Council Children, “Out of Area” Child. We also work with adopted child, mainly linking with Adoption East Midlands.

Observe and adhere to the Specialist CAMHS County Children Looked After Service specification, operational guidance, processes, vision, aims and objectives.

Offer clinical assessment and evidence-based intervention whilst observing current best practice, legislation and guidance.

To provide a therapeutic space for patients to use non-verbal creative expression and for them to access creative interventions within which they can explore their work alongside the therapeutic relationship and to think about what this means to them so as to facilitate recovery and change.

To develop and implement evidence-based creative psychotherapy to the young people who are referred.

Contribute and complete Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) in line with Service/trust expectations.

To liaise with Paediatric, LAC, Support After Adoption, Primary Care, Adult Mental Health and other health services to ensure a comprehensive package of care is provided.

Aim to be innovative and creative in the delivery of therapeutic intervention/care plan and offer psycho-education to young people and the networks around them.

Highly specialised knowledge across a range of procedures, underpinned by theory.

Manage a caseload whilst considering and adhering to safeguarding policy and procedure and national and local legislation.

Offer support and supervision to junior colleagues and trainees.

Support smooth transitions into Adult MH Services where they are clinically indicated.

Seek support from the team lead, and senior colleagues as well as accessing regular clinical and managerial supervision as per Trust policy and professional registration requirements.

Support peers and colleagues and promote a team-working environment.

Ensure suitable risk management and care plans are formulated for all clinical cases.

Maintain contemporaneous records in alignment with Trust policy and within multiagency team processes.

Work in partnership with other teams within the Nottinghamshire CAMHS/Local Authority Services.

To offer consultation, training, support and supervision to one or more of the Nottinghamshire County internal residential care homes.

To ensure clinical outcome measures are used with a young person focus.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
