This rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated committed, forward-thinking nurse leader to join the Community Youth Justice Nursing Team.

You will have experience of working with vulnerable children & young people have excellent communication skills, be aspirational and adaptable to be able to undertake a comprehensive health assessment with children & young people who are known to the Youth Justice Service.

Post holder manages the day-to-day operation of the Youth Justice Nursing service across Nottinghamshire County & City.

This will be managed whilst maintaining a clinical role within the service, the you will provide both clinical, professional leadership and line management to the team and supports the Service Manager.

Contribution to the strategic direction, supporting the continued integration of pathways and take a lead role in facilitating effective positive partnerships with local authority, youth justice services, primary care and the wider health and social care community and key stakeholders.

As expert practitioner the post holder will lead on the continuous professional development of the workforce, supporting the Service Manager with development of the services performance capability undertake or co-ordinate service improvement and governance initiatives, supporting the development of policy and practice and deputise for the Service Manager.

To provide the day-to-day operational leadership and line management of the Youth Justice Nursing Service across Nottinghamshire City and County.

Supporting the Service Manager & Senior Leadership team to work with the Integrated Care Board and Commissioners to contribute to the strategic direction of the service.

To offer & provide Health Assessments to children and young people known to the Local Authority Youth Justice Service.

Working in close partnership with Youth Justice and other key stakeholders across Nottingham City & County

- To develop & implement education & training programmes to Youth Justice Service teams on generalist health issues to raise awareness of impact on young people.
- To ensure that the transition process to adult health provision for young people meets individual health care needs and is appropriate, timely & well-co-ordinated.
- To work in partnership with the multi-agency team of professionals including Children’s Services, Education & CAMHS to help young people known to the Youth Justice Service reach their potential by helping them to understand their health & take responsibility for their health and wellbeing appropriate to their age & development.
- The post holder will work with young people and families within the home environment, school or other identified community settings.
- A key aspect of the role is to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service as required.
