**We are recruiting Vacancy for: Classic Car Mechanic/Engine & Transmission Builder**
We are looking for a Classic Car Mechanic/Engine & Transmission Builder to join our team after recent expansion to suit customer demand.
Retroclassic Engineering specialise in the restoration and repair of a wide range of vintage, classic, retro and future classic cars, along with carrying out bespoke modifications and ‘restomod’ conversions.
**This role is based at our premises in Moreton Valance, Gloucestershire which is located just 5 minutes from the M5 Junction 12/13.**
**Your responsibilities will include;**
- Vehicle strip-down and assembly, including parts cataloguing, refurbishment and overhaul of parts, brake/fuel pipe replacement, mechanical repairs and servicing, vehicle corrosion protection, general vehicle restoration tasks
- Re-building a wide range of engines, transmissions and axles/differentials
- Carrying out conversions and modifications to a wide range of classic vehicles to the highest of standards including ‘restomod’ projects
- Working independently to meet strict project deadlines without constant supervision, managing your own project efficiently including producing parts lists and completion of detailed job records
- Ensuring parts for your project are ordered in a pro-active manner to allow projects to be completed efficiently
**Key Skills for this role include;**
- Experience in major mechanical repairs and overhaul/restoration of complete vehicles
- Strong experience in rebuilding engines, gearboxes and axles/differentials
- Automotive wiring and electrical system knowledge, carburettor/fuel injection diagnosis and set-up, engine & transmission rebuilding and motorsport/vehicle conversion experience
**Desirable skills for this role include;**
- Experience in motorsport, vehicle modifications and engine conversions
- Automotive electrical component installation such as standalone ECU’s and other electrical upgrades and conversions
- Wiring loom build experience to an OEM standard using Deutsch/Amphenol connector systems and similar
- Have a keen eye for detail, take pride in the quality of their work, and have a strong interest in classic cars
- Have at least 5 years experience in a relevant field within the automotive industry and hold industry qualifications, be comfortable working to strict deadlines/target hours and able to follow detailed work instructions
- Have good communication and IT skills, a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, a strong work ethic, and be punctual/organised
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Have a positive approach to learning new skills and working as part of a team
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
This role is a full-time position working Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, overtime available
**Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.**
