Manchester, United Kingdom The Christie NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Full Time 37.5 Hours

This is an exciting and rewarding role that will involve clinical education and sharing learning. You will help support new starters by supporting them in their supernumerary programme so that they are fully prepared with the essential skills necessary to work on the ward. We are looking for someone who is experienced, works as a role model to others, approachable and enjoys teaching and supporting staff in their roles and development on the ward.

We are committed to providing new starters with a comprehensive induction. As a Clinical Educator, you will be instrumental in supporting staff through this period, and a direct link between education and clinical practice. You will also have a key role in supporting the Ward Manager to share learning, teaching and develop improvement strategies to the ward.

We are also passionate about ongoing development of both individuals and the service, so the post holders will also support and develop new clinical training and competency packages around key clinical skills.

The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.

We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services. We are also an international leader in research, with world first breakthroughs for over 100 years.

We run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on the Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK.
