**The Role - Income Recovery Apprentice**

As an Income Recovery Apprentice, you will support the team with providing high quality administrative support to help them to maximise rental income and the recovery of rent arrears, and signposting residents to the relevant benefits or specialist money advice agencies. You will work towards the achievement of an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration over 18 Months.

**What you’ll do**:

- You will support the team in the recovery of rent and service charges owed in a professional, courteous, and supportive manner.
- Help the team to ensure all legal forms are completed accurately and within legal time frames.
- Liaise with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) service, where appropriate, to secure direct recovery from benefits.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure referrals for financial and employment support are made.
- Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with others internally and externally.

**On completion of your Apprenticeship you will be able to**:

- Maintain team and individual diaries and case correspondences ensuring court hearings, evictions and stay hearings are attended by the appropriate Income Officer.
- Maintain team records and information systems including scanning, filing, indexing and logging of incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence.
- Receive and process requests from residents for credit rent refunds and deposits.
- Liaise with rent accounting section on accounting matters and the Deposit Protection Scheme to resolve any issues.
- Receive and process all Direct Debit mandates. Liaise with Income Officers and residents to resolve any issues.

**Skills and Experience we would like you to have**
- You should already hold or be working towards a minimum of 2 GCSE’s A-C / Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organisation skills.
- Confident at making decisions and accountable for workload.
- Adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment.
- Exceptional collaborative skills to work with different departments.
- Able to work efficiently, both independently and within a team environment.
