**Job summary**:
Direct and lead the Defence College for Military Capability Integration (DCMCI), one of the two 1-star led Colleges within the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom (DefAc), responsible for Technical, Information and Capability Management training and education and the provision of related expert advice and research.
The current delivery portfolio includes over 75 unique courses with circa 200 iterations per annum, delivered to over 11,000 students, from new recruits to 4-star/Perm Sec level, as well as those from International, Industrial and wider government partners.
These courses are delivered via a combination of remote/online, face to face and hybrid routes. DCMCI is also responsible for providing technical, information and capability input to a range of military leadership courses operated by its sister College in the DefAc, the Joint Service Command & Staff College (JSCSC).
Academic delivery is conducted in partnership with Cranfield University and supported by partners across MOD, wider Government and Defence Industry. The post holder is the Designated Officer for the management of the long-term contract with Cranfield and is responsible for managing and developing these wider strategic relationships and putting them on a sustainable footing.
**Job description**:
In addition to meeting current customer commitments, the post holder is responsible for a major portfolio of change projects, designing and developing the training and education response to new or changed Defence priorities as set out in the Integrated Review and related MOD/Government strategies.

In responding to these new requirements, the postholder will work closely with Defence Academy Headquarters to maintain alignment between the Defence College for Military Capability Integration demands and wider Defence Academy Strategy and to ensure the full costs and resource implications of delivering any new business are identified and suitable funding provision secured.
A key member of the Defence Academy and wider MOD senior leadership teams, the post holder is expected to offer strategic insights into how the Defence workforce responds to the accelerating threats and opportunities arising from new technologies and support the development and delivery of responding strategies.
**Leadership**
- Set the Defence College for Military Capability Integration Vision and lead the College to deliver training and other customer commitments that actively demonstrate their contribution to Defence, UK Strategic Command, Joint Force Development and Defence Academy priorities, including International/Defence Engagement.
- Ensure a confident, inspiring and empowering culture across a team of c130 military and civilian staff organised in 8 distinct Schools/Centres/Programmes.
- Champion and lead by example in every aspect of promoting equality, diversity, inclusivity and wellbeing, and the development of MOD Talent.
**Business, Resource and Programme Management**
- Translate Defence Academy and Defence College for Military Capability Integration strategies into workable business and programme/project plans that balance expectations with resources, including identifying opportunities for income generation.
- Operate and maintain safety, performance and quality management systems to monitor and continuously improve Defence College for Military Capability Integration performance and support benchmarking across DefAc and beyond.
- Manage annual budgets in line with Departmental expectations and plan for longer term efficiencies and opportunities, including initiating/supporting formal Planning Options as required.
- Ensure compliance with Departmental legislative, regulatory and policy obligations
