Bradford Nutrition and Dietetic Service

Are you recently qualified as a dietitian or due to qualify, or are you wishing to consolidate your experience before moving onto a more specialised role?

This role is open for applicants due to qualify this year.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to join our supportive, dynamic and award winning team, to provide dietetic services and expertise to people living in Bradford.

Acute

You will manage your own caseload of patients in a range of clinical areas including stroke, respiratory medicine, acute medicine, orthopaedic surgery and care of the elderly. Working as part of the ward MDT to support the delivery of nutritional care. You will also support outpatient clinics including nutrition support and hospital discharge support.

You will also have the opportunity to gain experience with the specialist dietitians working in Parenteral Nutrition, Critical Care, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Hepatology, Surgery and Upper GI cancer.

Our Department

All newly qualified dietitians are encouraged and supported to participate in the Trust’s Preceptorship programme.

As part of a larger dietetic department of over 50 dietitians opportunities exist to gain an insight into other specialist areas of dietetics such as Renal medicine, Head and Neck cancer, Paediatrics, Diabetes and weight management.

We are supported by an excellent clerical team with good IT and library facilities.

Bradford has a diverse, multicultural population with a wide range of socioeconomic groups, and a diversity of needs which makes it a very interesting place to work.

You will be working with inpatients and outpatients at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Lukes Hospital and may also have the opportunity to work across a range of other dietetic services or community locations.

The post holder will participate fully in the training of ‘B’ and ‘C’ Placement student dietitians.

Applicants must be HCPC registered dietitians or due to obtain registration.

Bradford has a wide range of entertainment and leisure activities available locally. There are good road and rail networks to Leeds and the M62 corridor, and easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the South Pennines.
