**Job title**: Residential Care Worker
**Location**: Bradford
**Salary**: £24,000 - £27,500
performance related bonus + sleep allowance
Earning with sleeps - up to 34k
Rota’d sleep allowance also paid during annual leave
**Shift Pattern**: 1 on 2 off rota pattern
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Offering emotional and physical support
- Establishing a safe and nurturing environment
- Collaborating with professionals.
- Implementing strategies for positive behaviour
- Ensuring consistency in approaches
- Supporting the young person with their education
- Administering medication and coordinating medical appointments
- Maintaining effective communication with children, colleagues, and other professionals,
- Keeping detailed records and updating parents/guardians and other relevant professionals in line with the young person’s care plan.
- Responding to emergencies and implementing crisis intervention plans
- Advocating for the rights and needs of the children.
- Participating in ongoing training and staying informed about relevant regulations
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
- Attending team meetings for comprehensive care planning
**Skills and Experience**:
- The ability to understand and empathise with the unique challenges and needs of children in care is crucial. Patience is essential in handling diverse situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The capacity to build positive and supportive relationship
- The capacity to adapt to changing situations
- Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage and maintain accurate records of the children's progress, incidents, and other relevant information.
- Understanding child development and age-appropriate activities
- The ability to work effectively within a team
**Qualification**
- Level 3 of Health and Social Care or equivalent (desirable)
