Finance Assistant
Location: Yorkshire Clinic, Bingley
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full-time
**Salary**: Dependent on experience + Benefits
Summary:
The Yorkshire Clinic is one of West Yorkshire's leading private hospitals set in three acres of woodland in the grounds of Cottingley Hall near Bingley. The hospital opened in 1982 and currently has 57 bedrooms including one twin-bedded room all with en-suite facilities.
By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The four fully equipped theatres, all with ultra clean air technology, are particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures, such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacement.
Treatments at the clinic include knee cartilage surgery, knee arthroscopy, knee ligament surgery, cataract surgery and shoulder muscle repair. There is also one theatre especially suitable for minor local anaesthetic procedures.
The role:
We currently have a great opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team at Yorkshire Clinic, based in Bingley.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Post payments received electronically, by cheque, cash and credit card accurately and in a timely manner daily
- Record and reconcile all postings against _a bank statement or similar document_
- Ensure assigned accounts are balanced daily
- Monitor unallocated cash weekly
- Contact each Insurance Company to obtain authorisation for admitted care patients prior to the patients admission date - daily
- Perform other assigned duties as requested by Manager
- Cash postings - NHS / Private. 2 hours - daily - confirm with Jake.
- Allocate any PMI payments daily as well as downloading remittances from the remittance cockpit and allocating the payment each Friday - 7.5 hours Friday, details remittance cockpit.
- Unallocated cash - monitor levels weekly
- Obtaining PMI Authorisation from Insurance Companies for admitted care treatment - daily
Skills/Experience Required:
- Ability to multi-task
- Collaborative team player; able to work with colleagues, external parties and internal departments
- Computer literacy; able to work two monitors
- Strong follow-through
- Previous experience dealing with Insurance Companies, handling payments and balancing accounts helpful
