Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate and facilitate safety training sessions for employees/contractors, including induction training and ongoing refresher courses.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, and collaborate with relevant teams to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Manage the distribution centre's safety equipment inventory, ensuring adequate supply and compliance with relevant standards.
- Liaise with internal auditors to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support the HSE Manager in the development and maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation drills and first aid drills.
- Prepare and complete daily and monthly reports on health, safety, and environmental metrics, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Assist in maintaining documentation and records related to HSE activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in coordinating various meetings, including committee gatherings, by overseeing scheduling, logistics, and participant communication. Additionally, record, transcribe, and distribute minutes for these meetings, workshops, and training sessions pertaining to health, safety, and environmental topics.
- Provide administrative support to the HSE Manager, correspondence, and document preparation.
- Undertake general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and photocopying to support the smooth functioning of the HSE department.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Proven experience in a similar role within the distribution or logistics industry, with a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with safety management software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment
