Hotel Receptionist

**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Reception Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the hotel, with your team.
As the Receptionist, you will support Blackpool Football Club Hotel in delivering the best possible experience for its guests.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:
- To be responsible for the running and operation of the reception department
- To deliver excellence in customer service, maximising profits and exploiting opportunities for business growth.
- To adhere to and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and cleanliness.
- Welcoming all guests who enter the hotel in a friendly and professional manor.
- Checking guests in and out of the hotel ensuring correct payments are taken as per the companies’ standard of procedure.
- Complete daily banking procedures.
- To answer all internal and external calls in a professional manner as per the company’s Standard of Procedure.
- To have and maintain a high standard of knowledge of the hotel services and local information.
- To ensure all daily duties are performed and completed on a daily basis to the company’s standards and procedures.
- To ensure that the workplace and surrounding areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness at all times.
- To ensure all maintenance issues observed and reported are passed on to the maintenance team.
- To communicate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team ensuring you always project a professional image.
- To be fully conversant and able to operate the hotel front office system (PMS) and reservation system.
- To refer all group enquires to the group coordinator.
- To adhere to all company Health and Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- To attend regular departmental meetings and training sessions where required

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience of working under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
**Knowledge & Skills**
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to communicate with guests, team members and other managers within the business. always ensuring confidentiality.
- Be willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
**Personal Qualities**
- A quick learner with the ability to work independently, as well as within a team.
- Good initiative, enthusiasm, problem-solving approach to new challenges.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Recruitment checks**: You will also be required to provide details of referees for the previous five years’ working history or referees whilst in full-time education.
