_**Role Purpose**_

As Development Engineer within the Product Development department, you are responsible for realising the technical development of Lighting solutions, working closely with the Product Architects & Product development team.

Key Responsibilities
- Creation of CAD models using Solidworks
- Creation of 2D drawings & assembly drawings
- Sourcing quote requests.
- Supporting finding technical solutions in product development.
- Support the focus on design modularity, platforms, replaceability and quality.
- Join the EMEA technology champion’s structure.
- Supporting prototype and pre-production builds.
- Prototype testing, including the programming of control systems.
- Supporting assets, Installation sheets, recycling instructions.
- Participation into FMEA, DFM exercises.
- System data support.
- Implement changes required by production for cost reductions, component changes, supplier changes.

- 2+ years’ experience in Lighting or a similar building services discipline
- 3D CAD (ideally Solidworks) user experience
- Technical understanding of design constraints of Molding for plastic and aluminum / Extrusion / Sheetmetal / Rapid Prototyping / Assembly techniques
- Experience of a structured new product development process
- Qualified - HNC, HND, Foundation certified or degree
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
