HR Officer

Salary up to £32 p/a, depending on experience, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The job is office based, but some flexible working can be considered after the initial training period.
**Location -** Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
**Responsibilities**:
**1. Day-to Day HR Operations**:
- Manage daily HR functions relating to the employee lifecycle, including checking clock logs, processing holiday requests, handling sickness notes, absence monitoring, compiling and updating employee records, processing of leavers and conducting exit interviews.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees and line managers on HR related queries.
**2. Recruitment**:
- Manage the direct recruitment process as and when required, including reviewing job specs, posting adverts (internal and external), CV screening, setting up interviews, and obtaining references.
**3. New Employees**:
- Prepare employment documentation for new starters, conduct inductions, and perform right-to-work checks.
**4. Payroll Assistance**:
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data, such as copies of fit notes, changes to personal details, end of employment details, processing agency timesheets.
**5. Attendance and Disciplinary**:
- Manage absence by running absence report, preparing attendance review letters, participating in meetings, note-taking and writing outcome documentation.
- Facilitate disciplinary letters and outcome documentation.
- Support the HR Manager with complex and on-going cases such as flexible working requests, capability on medical grounds, performance management plans.
**6. Other Admin tasks**:
- Scanning and filing documents
**Ideal Applicants Should Possess**:
- Proven experience of at least 1 year as an HR officer or similar role.
- CIPD level 3 or working towards it (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of HR functions and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
