**HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER**

**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**

**Role Overview**

To provide assistance, advice and guidance of Safety and Environmental issues to all departments throughout the organisation.

The Health and Safety Officer will be NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (will support completion of course if necessary) qualified.

**MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**_Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S)_**
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety policy
- Assist with identifying training needs and delivering safety training to staff
- Carry out accident investigations, audits and on-site inspections of premises
- Assist with maintaining ISO14001 Certification
- Ongoing continual improvement, especially with Environmental elements including maintenance of SKPI, energy and waste reduction etc
- Develop and execute internal audits on;
- Risk Assessment, machinery safety, lock off procedures, training evaluation
- Assist with developing Central Prevention Plan for improved reporting and tracking of hazards
- Monitor the Ergonomic and Manual Handling Assessment Programme
- Maintain COSHH assessment and associated programmes
- Carry out internal exposure monitoring - Dust, Noise, HAV, Lighting
- Analyse incident data and its development using TQ tools
- Travel to other Coty factories around the world as required along with regular trips to other Coty sites in the UK

**Health & Safety/Working Conditions**
- Implement agreed actions for H&S Guidelines relevant to department and function.
- Ensure H&S rules are adhered to according to H&S policy.
- Use the equipment at work station in accordance with instructions.
- Support the H&S programs in the site.

**Training**
- Attend and participate in training courses when invited.
- To create and roll out relevant training to the site when required.

- Ensure that HS&E systems are compatible with GMP/QA and do not introduce further risk
