The Street Benefice consists of four parishes composed of nine settlements and seven churches in the very beautiful Howardian Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and on the edge of the North York Moor National Park, with many opportunities to enjoy the out-of-doors. The Benefice lies just North of the busy market town of Malton, which has a reputation as Yorkshire’s food capital, with food and drink festivals all year round.

The parishes are committed to grow in faith, fellowship and lay ministry in order to meet the challenges and changes that are needed in working towards amalgamation with the neighbouring Howardian Benefice.

What we offer:

- A three year, Interim Post, with a large four bedroomed house in the beautiful village of Terrington.
- Supportive parishioners who recognise the need for change and want to serve with their priest to realise this.
- An authorized Lay Minister, an enthusiastic lay ministry team, 15 Eucharist Ministers and wonderfully supported by several retired priests.
- Broad and varied worship traditions
- Music is vitally important to the Street Benefice, with a lively and growing Music Group who sing for Benefice and other services, led by Dr Philip Moore, formerly Organist and Master of the Music at York Minster.
- Links to two community primary schools within the benefice
- Seasonal Bible and prayer studies during Advent and Lent
- Open and welcoming churches which serve the local communities and tourism.

We are seeking a House-for-Duty priest to walk with us on our journey of faith and who:

- enjoys visiting, meeting, visiting and talking to people of all generations and beliefs
- enjoys taking services but also welcomes lay involvement
- is willing to share the administrative load with PCCs and churchwardens
- values the potential of historic church buildings and wants to help us care for them for future generations
- embraces opportunities for change, and who will lead and guide us through future plans for our Benefice, which will involve working alongside our friends in the Howardian and Harton Benefices
