Job summary

We now have a vacancy for a new Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead. This fantastic opportunity is as direct result of the creation of a new Strategy, Culture and Education Directorate. We are now looking for an inspirational and passionate EDI lead, who will head the EDI team and proactively lead the Trusts’ Culture and Inclusivity agenda, from a staff, patient and community perspective.

Main duties of the job

You will need to have significant evidence of experience of either leading or supporting the EDI agenda in a complex organisation and proven ability to engage and challenge at all levels with internally and externally. Experience of working with the EDI standards and their processes. You will be a cohesive and compelling communicator with an ability to co-ordinate projects effectively and lead them to conclusion in a timely manner. We are looking for someone to be a leader in words, actions and outcomes, with evidence of achievement in your career and in life, with fresh perspective and cutting edge thinking to support the achievement of the Trust’s EDI ambitions.

Who we are

The East of England covers six counties, that’s around 7,500 square miles. We provide a 24/7 emergency service that meets the demands of such a vast area, is a huge undertaking, but at the East of England ambulance service we do just that. Members of our team are out there now, working across 130 sites and alongside 17 acute hospital Trusts. The service we provide is specifically tailored to meet the differing needs of our diverse local communities, whether they’re on the coast, in the city, situated near a major road or airport or based in rural farmland.
