**Teaching Assistant Vacancy**

**Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a part-time Teaching Assistant based at Ludwell Primary School on a fixed - term maternity cover contract.**

**Hours: Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, 9am -12 and 1-3, 4 days a week, 38 weeks per year (term time, excluding TD days).**

**Salary: D4, £23,114 - pro rata, per annum (actual salary £10,471 per annum)**

**Start date: May 2024**

**End date: April 2025 or it will end when the current post holder returns to work**

Ludwell Primary School is located near Shaftsbury in South Wiltshire and provides education to approximately 100 children.

The school prides itself on being a friendly, vibrant school with an energetic and creative staff team. The school is committed to providing the best primary education for all its pupils and is proud of the vibrant and exciting school environment it creates. Pupil’s achievements are recognised and celebrated, with the aim to develop a love of learning and build self-esteem, confidence and independence. The school has fantastic outdoor facilities, which are used well to provide outdoor learning experiences. There are high expectations of all children in their learning, and the school promotes and achieves high standards of behaviour.

Duties will include:

- Supporting pupils learning, either in groups or through 1:1 work. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil/s
- Supporting pupils self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
- Provide physical/personal care to pupils where required
- Supporting the teacher/s
- Supporting the curriculum - Support the delivery of the English and Mathematics curriculum along with other aspects of both the National Curriculum and the enhanced curriculum offered by the school.
- Support the schoole.g.assisting with setting up, storing and retrieving and general maintenance of classroom equipment and teaching aids.

The jobholder must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This will involve undertaking annual Safeguard training and using school reporting systems for any Safeguard concerns.
