Campaigns and Communications Assistant
Mumsnet is looking for a bright, organised and enthusiastic graduate or equivalent to assist our busy Communications & Campaigns team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with an interest in press, public affairs and campaigns to develop a career with the UK’s leading and most influential website for parents.
Working in a busy and agile team, you will gain experience and develop skills, helping to ensure that our team functions at the highest level and delivering practical support for wider campaigns, communications and marketing activity.
Our team’s workload is highly diverse and incredibly interesting. You’ll be working on a huge range of issues that affect parents in the UK, from childcare and education to the gender pay gap and women’s health. An interest in, and empathy for, the concerns of UK parents and women is a must. You’ll be able to build a career within a dynamic, fast-paced working environment that is fun and highly rewarding.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Responding to and contacting journalists and elected representatives
- Collating and analysing press coverage
- Management of social media feeds
- Assisting in the development and distribution of press releases and other materials
- Supporting team members with broader campaigns, policy, public affairs and cross-marketing work
- Using our CMS to keep relevant web pages up to date
- Background research for our communications and campaigns activity
The above job description is a guide to the work you may be required to undertake but does not form part of your contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.
**Benefits**
Why work for us?
We embraced flexible and home working a long time before COVID, and we care much more about outputs than hours on the clock. We don't only want to hire the best people: we want to retain them. If you need some flexibility, let us know and we’ll do our best.
We’re committed to diversity and quality (see our policy) and we think we’re second to none in the all-round support we offer to parents and carers at work (see our parental leave policies). Working for Mumsnet means never having to pretend you don’t have a family or other commitments, and we promise never to keep you away from a school appointment. We are also proud to be a London Living Wage employer and we have never used unpaid interns.
We have a healthy line-up of sandwich lunches, knowledge sessions, book clubs, yoga sessions, monthly socials and sports teams, as well as an unhealthy line-up of staff parties at Kentish Town’s excellent pubs and restaurants, and McDonald’s deliveries for the mornings after.
Hybrid & flexible working
We’ve continued to embrace flexibility and remote working to the max. You’ll only be required to be in the office two days a week (although you can go in more often if you wish). We’re flexible with hours and happy to accommodate personal commitments like picking the kids up from school. We’re more interested in output than presenteeism, so if you need to move things around, we can probably work it out.
