This is an exciting opportunity to develop roles in both administration and fundraising processes. You will be the first point of contact for the charity, so politeness and professionalism are key when speaking and working with supporters, the local community, supporters, clients, and stakeholders.

A high level of detail, methodical approach and organisation will be needed to undertake the administrative tasks as well as an excellent knowledge of IT systems such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint along with CRM's. As Fundraising Assistant, you will work alongside and support the Senior Fundraiser, helping and working with corporate partners as well as the general public to help generate funds as well as be an excellent advocate for the organisation.

The role will include representing the Charity at community events and local shows, building relationships with our supporters. The job is very varied with no one day being the same, delivering your main office-based work in Leeds but also supporting our various fundraising events across West Yorkshire from walks to sleep-outs

General Duties

3. Send out sponsorship packs and fundraising materials to supporters raising funds for the Charity and assist with the general administration of fundraising activities.

4. Assist the Fundraising Manager in monitoring donations through Just Giving and using Excel to breakdown donation amounts and record them accurately.

5. Schedule team meetings and record team meeting minutes.

6. General admin tasks including invoicing, stock control and ordering of equipment, keeping accurate records and files of finances and cash handling and banking.

7. Updating and maintaining the donor database and CRM system (donor and financial recording system), inputting information and regularly contacting donors and supporters to keep in touch and update with them, to effectively manage our donors, maximise income, and follow up all events, ensuring all funds from notified events are received and recorded correctly and that donors are suitably thanked.

8. To act as a representative of SOTS by raising awareness through public speaking engagements, attending cheque presentations, and representing the Charity at community fundraising events throughout the West Yorkshire region such community fairs or school assemblies.

9. Utilising Simon on the Streets’ social media accounts to write thank you and event promotion posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

11. To recruit, induct and manage Community volunteers and ensure they comply with the Charity’s policies and procedures.

12. Proactively develop income from collection boxes in the Leeds area, by identifying possible sites for boxes and work with volunteers to ensure full boxes are collected and processed.

13. Assist with the co-ordination and development of income from store collections by liaising with supermarkets and fundraising volunteers.

14. Working in partnership with the Fundraising Manager, carrying out promoting and thanking fundraising activity within the region in line with the charity policy, to maximise income generation within the community

15. To take responsibility for handling, counting and banking cash raised at fundraising events.

16. Comply with the charity’s policies and processes including Financial, Health & Safety (including carrying out risk assessments) GDPR, data protection and ensure effective governance.

17. Working with the team to manage the region’s stock and fundraising resources.

18. To plan for and attend regional meetings/planning meetings/volunteer meetings.

19. To undertake other duties and training as may reasonably be required from time to time.

20. Using Canva to design posters, flyers and other promotional materials to use as marketing materials for events

21. Updating the Simon on the Streets website with information as and when needed
