**KEY RESPONSIBILITES**

To succeed as a Records Administrator, you will need to have some previous office based administrative work experience, excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

A rudimentary knowledge of Intellectual Property is preferred but not a requirement as full training will be given.

As this is a busy department, a positive attitude is essential along with excellent communication skills and team working qualities.

As a Records Administrator you will be responsible for:
- Updating our Records Management system (from both internal and external communications).
- UK Patent Office communication updating and circulation.
- European Patent Office communication and circulation.
- Internal file closures.
- Entering of new matters.
- Despatching new matters.
- Validation and proof reading of correspondence from official sources.
- Updating the in-house records system.
- Other tasks as may be required by the department manager.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
- Accuracy, precision and an excellent attention to detail is key to this role. The checking of both internally and externally generated documentation to ensure that correct information is captured onto our Records Management system is critical to the accuracy of our clients’ portfolios and to the smooth running of the company’s internal procedures.
- Comfortable working to strict deadlines.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook together with excellent keyboard skills necessary for the role, due to the need for accurate and precise data entry.
- Reliability and the ability to work well within a team environment is extremely important.
- Previous experience of office based administrative procedures (preferably legal).
- Prior knowledge of IP would be desirable but not essential as all training will be given.
