**Job Purpose**
To provide administrative support to the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research (SCCJR).
The SCCJR is a unique partnership between Glasgow, Stirling, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier, and Strathclyde Universities which aims to:

- Produce high quality, internationally recognised research in relation to crime and criminal justice;
- Advance understanding of crime and criminal justice through theoretical, empirical and applied research;
- Work with communities, policy makers and the wider public to collaboratively build just societies;
Support the development criminological research capacity across Scotland and provide an inclusive forum for this regardless of SCCJR membership. The role supports the SCCJR director and SCCJR communications, finance, and knowledge exchange team, by undertaking key administrative processes and procedures. This is a 0.4FTE appoint until 31 July 2025.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. To undertake administrative functions in support of the activities of the SCCJR. These will include: maintaining SCCJR records; processing and managing routine expenses from across the SCCJR including these from members of the SCCJR’s partner universities, including the resolution of issues and expense queries; diary management and modest PA support for the SCCJR Director, preparing meeting agendas and associated papers; taking notes, preparing action minutes and monitoring completion of said actions by agreed deadlines.
2. To provide effective administration for the organisation of Management Committee and other SCCJR meetings, conferences, away-days, and events, including: sourcing and arranging travel and accommodation; sourcing and booking rooms and catering as necessary; preparing information packs; administering bookings and assisting participants, including in relation to the timely payment of expenses; and, providing cost alternatives for catering, promotional materials, and visits, liaising with third party suppliers as necessary.
3. To provide effective administrative and IT support to assist with the development and submission of SCCJR Board and other reports.
4. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the SCCJR Director and team.

**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Knowledge/Qualifications**

**Essential**:

A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework Level 7 (advanced Higher/Scottish vocational Qualification level 3; Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.

**Desirable**:

B1 ECDL modules.
B2 Higher English and Mathematics.
B3 Knowledge of university Research and Knowledge Transfer environments.

**Skills**

**Essential**:

C1 A high level of IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages; use of databases; web maintenance, publishing software; and social networking.
C2 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
C3 Excellent interpersonal skills.
C4 A courteous and efficient telephone manner.

**Terms and Conditions**
Salary will be Grade 5, £25,138 - £29,605 per annum (pro rata).
This post is part time (14 hours per week) and fixed term until 31 July 2025.
