**Head of Engineering Business Operations**

Location: Thames Valley

Package: £55,450 - £80,000 (dependent on skills and experience)

Your primary focus within this role will be to ensure that governance of the Engineering Function is efficiently and effectively managed in accordance with internal and external regulatory compliance obligations to support business decisions and improveways of working.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Lead on the development and execution of business and functional governance
- Lead and deliver on Integrated Business Planning (IBP) in relation to supply and demand requirements
- Ensure an effective and affordable resource management strategy is implemented across Engineering
- Support Executive Director to ensure that the size and shape of the Engineering function meets the programme and strategic demands for current and future requirements
- Support Executive Director on the leadership and management of the AWE Strategic Imperatives, associated with Engineering
- Provide leadership across the Engineering Business Operations team to coach, develop, engage, and motivate individuals to create high performing teams
- Ensure that the Engineering Management Arrangements are fully compliant with the AWE System
- Provide financial management to ensure resources and associated costs are controlled within budgetary constraints and aligned with function priorities

Ideally you will have strong leadership skills with a focus on driving high performance and development. A sound business and financial acumen is needed to provide strategic and tactical insight and thinking to support the Engineering Function needs.

Additional requirements for the role include:

- Managing a high degree of effectiveness in a multitask role, managing priorities and delivering to challenging timescales
- Working at a strategic level to assimilate and analyse information quickly to assess and resolve issues and execute solutions
- Acting as strong influencer with excellent interpersonal, engagement and presentation skills with the ability to convince through personal credibility
- Driving transformation, change and continuous improvement through collaboration and leading by example
- A commitment to and an understanding of diversity, equality and inclusion and leading, managing and motivating teams to deliver
- Previous experience operating in a corporate governance role, focusing on resource and capability planning, risk management and business reporting.
- Evidence of management, interpretation and presentation of financial performance and operational/business performance information
- Understanding of commercial and financial principles, viewing issues in terms of cost, profits and added value
