We have an exciting opportunity to join **Transpennine Route Upgrade** as **Internal Communications Executive**

**Transpennine Route Upgrade**:
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a major multi-billion-pound railway programme in the North of England between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York. It will transform journeys across the North, better connecting towns and cities through more frequent, faster, greener trains, running on a better, cleaner and more reliable railway.

TRU will bring passengers:

- More trains to choose from and more seats
- Faster journeys so you can travel to your favourite towns and cities more quickly.
- More reliable journeys with trains that run on-time
- Better stations
- Greener travel, reducing our carbon footprint and improving air quality

Stretching across the North of England, this key 70-mile rail artery serves 23 stations, crosses over and dips under 285 bridges and viaducts, passes through six miles of tunnels, and crosses over 29 level crossings.

**Brief Description**:
You will coordinate a portfolio of multi-media internal communication channels. To develop and deliver an integrated programme for internal communication content provision that meets Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) business objectives and is aligned with TRU Internal Communications (IC) strategy. You will deliver internal communications covering the whole TRU Enterprise. The role sits within an enterprise-based organisation and you will also have the opportunity to support function and project activity across the north of England, including York, Leeds, Manchester and locations in-between. Flexibility to deliver work from other northern offices is therefore essential. If you are an effective communicator and comfortable with a changing portfolio then we want to hear from you.

**About the role (External)**:
**Some of the key accountabilities of this role are: -**

1. Follow editorial policy, procedure, plans and guidelines for internal communications channels;
2. Manage the delivery of IC content to time and production deadlines, with the appropriate tone, language, content and house-style;
3. Support the Senior Communications Manager and work closely with the external communications teams and wider-internal communication teams to develop and deliver TRU’s internal communications strategy;
4. Implement regular reviews of the multi-media internal communications channels to improve effectiveness;
5. Follow and deliver production schedules for internal communications channels;
6. Work with the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) team to deliver internal communications content that meets business objectives; and

7. Work collaboratively with other Communications colleagues to deliver “joined-up” internal and external messages.

- Education to degree level or professional qualification in Communications
- Experience in communications, either internal or external
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
