Saint Leonards, United Kingdom Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you passionate about improving care, experience and outcomes for patients and staff? Are you a strategic thinker with a passion to drive service improvement? If the answer to this is yes, then we have a fantastic opportunity to join the Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Service (DIUCS) as the 111 and IUC Business Improvement Lead at Dorset HealthCare.

This is an exciting time to join DIUCS and make a real difference as you lead your team through our on going Transformation project whilst ensuring 111 national standards and KPI are being met. This role will form part of the Senior Leadership Team and be responsible for the 111 Service as well as the IUC Business Support teams.

You will be organised, self-motivated, with the ability to remain calm under pressure, have excellent communication skills, good knowledge of data systems and be a problem solver with a positive mind-set. You will have excellent people skills and flexibility in your style of relationship management to support others in bringing about the sustained changes needed for the organisation to succeed and achieve its goals. Importantly you will be a team player who wants to consciously make a difference and be confident in all aspects of senior leadership, service improvement strategies as well as driving budget sustainability within your service.

Interviews will be held 8th May 2024.

DIUCS brings together NHS 111, a new Clinical Assessment and Treatment service (CATS), which provides non-core hours primary care and night nursing functions, a single point of access (SPOA) for professionals, urgent treatment centres and minor injuries units. Integrating these elements, presents the opportunity for more people to receive seamless urgent advice and/or care, and reduce the strain on Primary Care our EDs and the 999 service.

Accountable for ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred services with a focus on integrated care which always considers people’s safety, privacy and dignity.

Manages and provides leadership to 111 and Business Support Managers and other staff in the multi-disciplinary team.

To act as a champion for NHS Pathways standards and for continuous improvement in the service user experience, providing assurance that standards meet all contractual requirements.

To ensure the delivery of up to date evidence based practice.

To lead as a driver for change, contributing to the planning and design of services in line with Trust, locality, and government objectives to meet the needs of local people.

The post holder will be accountable for the direct delivery of the 111 service or services within a directorate team and will draw on their experience of earlier career roles in assisting others in their delivery of direct patient care.
