- Climate Change is high on the agenda of Westmorland and Furness Council. The Council Plan clearly states that we will provide leadership in the drive to become carbon net zero by 2037.
- The Council is responsible for the delivery of a number of Housing Retrofit schemes including a recent successful bid for £12.4m Government funding to deliver essential energy improvements across the whole of Cumbria. We are also the lead agency on the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund working with partner Housing Associations to improve their housing stock.
- Due to a promotion, we are looking for a Technical Energy Officer to join our team and help deliver the government funded projects. The role involves working with applicants & their families, partner agencies and our local communities to promote and deliver energy efficiency measures. You will need good communication skills, be organised and have a can-do attitude.
- The right attitude and enthusiasm is more important than a technical background, although researching green energy grants would be advisable.
