An opportunity has arisen to work as a Pensions Technical Officer within the Central Services Department, for Cumbria Constabulary.

The successful candidate will support the strategic delivery of a range of pensions initiatives and projects including Pensions Remedy. They will provide specialist advice to Senior Managers on specific pension matters to ensure that policy and discretionary arrangements are in place to provide a framework for the effective management and administration of the Constabulary’s pensions schemes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating with members of each scheme, promoting scheme benefits, and providing pensions guidance to our stakeholders. This will include running member events & meetings, representing the Constabulary at Regional and National Meetings as well as providing pension training to members of the Central Services Team.

Applicants must have experience and knowledge of public sector pension schemes, be a good communicator with the ability to simplify regulations and legislation to our various stakeholders and be able to understand various financial calculations and pensions procedures. Applicants should also demonstrate a positive resilient mindset and be enthusiastic about delivering a high quality service, in return we will provide training and support.

This role is an agile working position, and the post holder will be required to work from Police Headquarters, Penrith as well as from home.

The role is advertised as a part-time position and forms part of a job share.
