The Global Business Services (GBS) Analytics team sits within the Finance function and is focused on helping customers get actionable insights from data. As an Assurance Analytics business partner supporting GIA, you will be responsible for partnering with the customer to identify and execute on opportunities to use data to drive and improve risk assurance activities in AZ.

Group Internal Audit (GIA) is part of a wider AZ finance team that drives independent and objective assurance activities that are guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of AZ. It assists AZ in achieving its strategic aims by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate, assure and improve the effectiveness of the organisation's risk management, control and governance processes.

You will be part of a high performing, multi-disciplinary team, delivering analytical products to aid business decision making. Having a passion for driving incremental business value using analytics, with strong experience of understanding business processes, internal audit requirements, customer needs and challenges, capturing and analysing business requirements, combined with excellent stakeholder management.

**Key Responsibilities**

Assurance Analytics business partner (GIA) has 5 key areas of responsibility:
Data Analytics and Data Insights
- Subject matter expert (SME) in data analytics, able to identify opportunities to use data in GIA by connecting with and leveraging wider teams access to data
- Resourceful to seek and identify different data sources and processing data into a form that will support Internal Audit and risk assurance activities
- Ensure data analytics activities uphold standards around data security and integrity

Data storytelling
- Excellent data storytelling to Audit Leads and senior stakeholders with the goal of supporting decision making (e.g. sample selection) and audit conclusions (e.g. audit exceptions)

Process improvement
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in GIA team day to day activities using latest technology
- Lead improvement in GIA team efficiency in data analysis and delivery

Manage stakeholder relationships
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills and curiosity with demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes in business environment

Support high performance team
- As SME, work with GIA team to identify data analytics development needs and drive activities to upskill data analytics capabilities. This may include active participation in GIA led Data Analytics Strategy team discussions and implementation
- Participate and support GBS Analytics leadership to deliver activities related to a high performing team
- Able to coach and mentor team members to continuously improve delivery

**Essential Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in analytics.
- Proficiency in databases and data pulling tools (e.g. SQL, Power Query)
- Experienced auditor and/or understand risk assurance activities having worked with auditors.
- Experience of effective global communication especially the ability to articulate and prepare communications of analysis results and findings to multiple stakeholders
- Experience of gathering user requirements related to data visualization
- Experience in using data visualization software (in particular Power BI)
- Demonstrated sound understanding of a complex corporate environment and a good sense of business acumen
- Ability to collaborate, work independently and work efficiently in a high-energy environment
- Ability to present sound and well-reasoned argument to convince others
- Ability to challenge when things are not done according to AZ values and drive issue resolution
- Highly curious with strong desire to discover and learn
- Work well in a VUCA (vulnerable, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment

**Desirable**
- Working knowledge of programming languages (Python/R)
- Strong knowledge of AZ operating model combined with external good practice
- Previous experience working on global projects
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively run multiple and frequently changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to perform in an environment that emphasizes on teamwork
