Ikon Fostering is an Independent Fostering Agency based in Walsall, West Midlands.

We are currently looking to recruit a Placements Officer to expand the workforce of our ever-growing agency.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and computers
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work under pressure and handle changing priorities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Childcare qualification or experience preferable

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Reading through children’s referrals and matching to foster carers
- Updating spreadsheets
- Visiting foster carers and building good working relationships with them
- Building good relationships with the local authorities
- Completing trainings within the agency which will promote better understanding of PACE model
- Attending Ikon events throughout the year

At all times, the post holder must:

- Maintain positive relations with partner agencies
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times
- Take account of the principles and provisions of children's and other relevant legislation, regulations and guidance and all relevant organisational policies and procedures
- Consider the safety and wellbeing of children and young people whilst in the immediate care of the worker.
- Planning and implementing day to day procedures, routines & activities of Ikon Fostering as required.
- Attending any training provided by Ikon Fostering.

Working 37 hours per week, Ikon Fostering is an Independent Fostering Agency, and is offering the role of a Placements Officer within the Placements Team.

A highly motivated individual with good inter-personal skills and an interest and commitment to working in a fast paced, child-centred environment.

The applicant will be responsible for delivering a 1st class customer service when dealing with foster carers, local authorities, and staff team by ensuring that all referrals of children are responded to efficiently and timely, with a strong drive for maximising opportunities for securing safe placements.
