Certification standards have an essential part to play in ensuring the safety and integrity of our food, from ingredients to finished products, and from supply chains to processing units and this is where the LRQA Assurance Programmes come into play.

The Assurance Officer will play an integral role within this, working within the team in ensuring audit delivery is delivered to a high standard by qualified and trained auditors, meeting the KPI/specification of LRQA clients and assisting with the planning operation for all LRQA schemes and allocations of the audits to ensure delivery on time to agreed Client KPI’s

Reporting to the Technical Assurance Manager, the Assurance Officer will be responsible for managing the Food Assurance Schemes. They will be responsible for managing the schemes in accordance with UKAS accreditation requirements and scheme owner KPIs and also delivering a first-class customer service experience.

**Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Food Science Degree or equivalent qualification/experience
- HACCP
- Food Manufacturing Experience
- IT and MS Office literate
- Knowledge of Excel
- Knowledge of UK food manufacturing practices and process
- Working knowledge of the Food Industry and Standards

Desirable
- Lead Auditor Qualification
- BRCGS experience - Understanding of BRCGS Course
- Auditing Experience within Food Manufacturing
- Understanding of quality management systems, competency requirements, writing manuals, policies, quality procedures, work instructions
- A thorough understanding of the relationships between auditees, scheme owners and accreditation bodies
- Awareness of the UK food industry legislation
- Awareness of food sector quality assurance including BRCGS, Red Meat schemes and standards
