**The Opportunity**

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data and analytics within our Large Power Systems Division (LPSD). Our vision is to become a digital leader in all aspects of our manufacturing business, and you will be at the heart of supporting a diverse team who tackles challenges and problems that are critical to realizing significant business outcomes. This position will work closely with global facilities within the Caterpillar network.

You’ll have a deep technical knowledge combined with a strong business focus and be motivated to drive continuous improvement and learning in yourself and others. The role is ideally suited to someone with a strong community building mindset who is comfortable presenting and advocating at executive level but has the technical depth to diagnose performance issues in architectural designs.

**This is an exciting opportunity to influence future data strategy in LPSD and to grow and mentor a vibrant and highly knowledgeable silo-breaking network of analysts across the business.**

**Job Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Set strategic direction for digital and data analytics working closely with business partners and wider corporation to align to business goals and corporate architectures.
- Build a team of initially 2-3 Intelligence Analysts’ to successfully execute the global analytics strategy.
- Define and communicate best practice design patterns and drive standard process throughout the wider community.
- Analyzes business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to analysts and decision makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
- Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements.
- May participate in cross functional teams to address business issues.
- Technical expert level Power BI Developer
- Act as a team lead on a specific vertical and manage Business Intelligence Analysts’ workloads.
- Present insights outputs to Senior leaders and advisors
- Incorporate knowledge of analytical methods and business acumen to guide cross-functional teams in the chartering and execution of work.
- Serve as the principal communicator with clients and internal stakeholders regarding project status.
- Manage a large portfolio/program.

Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Deep expertise in data analytics architecture and strategy
- Previously worked within a global manufacturing environment
- Experience in leading a small technical team.
- Good understanding of SQL and Power Bi (or similar analytic interfaces)
- Great verbal and written communication and presentation skills to collaborate cross functionally; ability to translate effectively between highly technical areas and business leaders and stakeholders.
- Intellectually curious, seeking external market inputs.
- Demonstrated project management experience for highly visible solutions used broadly across the organization.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, Alteryx, PowerBI
- Strong attention to detail to spot inaccuracies in coding or data.
- Exposure to low-code toolsets, including Alteryx, PowerApps and Tableau
- Passion for acquiring, analysing, and transforming data to generate insights, Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques.
- Working knowledge of Agile Software development methodology.
- Self-starter and driven.
- Passion for graphic design
- Design thinking experience
- Create innovative solutions to solve business problems.
- STEM related degree

**Additional **Notes**:
This role will require global travel to facilities in US (Griffin) / India (Aurangabad) / GB (Stafford) a few times throughout the year.
