Accounts Payable Lead

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Leader to oversee and optimise our procure-to-pay processes and associated controls. As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of Transactional Accounts Assistants and Accounts Payable Assistants, ensuring seamless service delivery, and fostering strong partnerships across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance the Accounts Payable processes and deliver exceptional service.
- Cultivate partnerships between Practices, Operations, Commercial, and the Accounts Payable team.
- Demonstrate expertise in processes, focusing on simplification for Joint Venture Partners (JVPs).
- Identify and implement process and system improvements within Accounts Payable.
- Provide training and coaching to Suppliers, Colleagues, and Partners on optimal purchasing practices.
- Stay updated with industry best practices to drive efficiency and value for our partners.
- Play a key role within the Accounts Payable team by leading, coaching, and mentoring.
- Develop straightforward solutions to enhance finance operations.
- Establish robust KPIs to monitor performance and enhance Service Level Expectations.
- Create and maintain comprehensive process and controls documentation for Accounts Payable.
- Generate standard reports, including system control reports.
- Utilize Excel for data processing and analysis, including basic graphs, tables, pivot tables, drop-down lists, and lookup formulas.
- Ensure adherence to internal processes and controls to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Evaluate existing controls for areas of enhancement and drive implementation of changes.
**Essential Experience**:
- Profound knowledge and demonstrated experience with a finance ERP system, preferably SAP S4 HANA.
- Proven ability in stakeholder management across various business areas interacting with the purchasing process.
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable processes and effective day-to-day line management.
- Extensive track record in Accounts Payable functions.
- Previous experience in team management, showcasing leadership abilities.
- Strong finance skills encompassing influencing, accounting systems, and accounting processes.
- Effective business partnering skills, including networking and stakeholder management.
- Sound understanding of governance, regulations, and process compliance.
**Location: Handforth, Cheshire. Hybrid working, office based working from our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office for 2 days a week**
