**At Octopus Energy Heating** we’re developing a home heating revolution through innovative heat pumps which will significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels and bring a cleaner more sustainable world. We are setting up the first (of multiple) manufacturing premises in Portadown and if you want to help us bring this technology to the market at scale and speed, then read on

As a **Technical Product Owner** at Octopus, you will lead the development of our innovative products from concept to commercialization. You will collaborate closely with our R&D team, as well as production, to define product requirements, prioritize features, and drive the execution of our product roadmap.

**What you'll do**:

- Product Strategy: Work with senior leadership and stakeholders to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Align R&D efforts with business goals and market needs.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with R&D engineers, and designers to define product requirements and specifications based on market research, customer feedback, and technology trends.
- Feature Prioritization: Prioritize features and enhancements based on technical feasibility, business value, and customer impact. Maintain a prioritized product backlog and communicate priorities to the R&D team.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and seamless execution of product initiatives.
- Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of R&D projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks that may impact project timelines or product quality. Develop contingency plans and alternative approaches as needed.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to our products. Evaluate new technologies and assess their potential for integration into our product roadmap.
- Commercialization: Work closely with the commercialization team to transition R&D projects from development to production. Ensure a smooth handover and provide ongoing support as needed.

**What you'll need**:

- Degree in a relevant field such as Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in product management, R&D, or technical project leadership roles within a research-driven environment.
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of scientific principles, experimental design, and R&D methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a focus on driving results and achieving goals.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of heating products is desired but not required
