An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Northern Care Alliance to be a part of the leadership team within the Maternity unit; as the Professional Midwifery Advocate/Staff engagement lead.

There is a fantastic maternity improvement programme underway at the northern care Alliance, which will enhance the services we offer to women, birthing people and their families who access our care. We would love for you to join us on this incredible journey.

We are looking for a dynamic enthusiastic and creative Midwife to lead the PMA team, using the A-Equip model, to support, monitor and maintain the high quality standards of midwifery care throughout the service.

Our staff are our greatest asset so you willalsolead on positive, compassionatestaffengagement and experienceholding regular drop in listening events, and participating with the staff focused workstreams of the improvement program.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop leadership and quality improvement skills in a warm friendly supportive environment, whilst maintaining clinical skills.

Support midwives to identify their own personal action for quality improvement

The post holder will use their understanding of personal and professional resilience and support others to develop this attribute

The post holder will use the data obtained from the local and national staff surveys to develop innovative and proactive strategies to improve our staff experience and engagement

To improve staff engagement the post holder will work with staff at all levels to obtain their feedback and suggestions to ensure our staff feel their opinions are valued.

Provide regular feedback to the Director of Midwifery and the senior team around themes identified, enabling prompt action to address issues arising within our workforce.

Ensure that there is a strong interface between the PMA and clinical governance at the Trust

Use their expert knowledge in midwifery practice to support the Director of Midwifery and the Senior Midwifery team in implementing and monitoring midwifery practice ensuring that there are robust clinical governance assurance systems in place relating to midwifery practice

The post holder will support Midwives in their practice using the A-Equip model anduse their expert knowledge in midwifery practice to support the Director of Midwifery and the Senior Midwifery team in implementing and monitoring midwifery practice ensuring that there are robust clinical governance assurance systems in place relating to midwifery practice.

As Staff engagement lead the post holder will be responsible for developing innovative and proactive methods of supporting and engaging with our staff.

The main aim being that our staff feel valued and actively encouraged to progress and develop ;thus improving our staff satisfaction, retention and recruitment.

This post will have a clinical element within the role.
