**Job Title**: Early Years Practitioner
**Responsible To**: Yorkies Manager
**Duties**:
1.
To participate in the development and planning of a creative and stimulating play using In the Moment Planning within a Key Worker role
2.
To carry out the necessary administration associated with Yorkies Day Care including record keeping, child observations and uploading to Tapestry (and to be willing to learn current assessment tool)
To be able to use own initiative during allocated ‘PPA’ time (planning, preparation and assessment time) to upload detailed observations and to communicate with parents & carers
3.
To administer first aid and undertake appropriate training, if required
4.
To develop good communication with the parents/carers of children attending Yorkies ensuring that systems for information flow are in place and maintained.
5.
To prepare meals and snacks for children after completing necessary food hygiene training and to undertake general kitchen duties.
6.
To attend meetings as appropriate and training when required. (every Tuesday morning)
7.
To ensure that all responsibilities and activities are carried out within an equal opportunity’s framework.
8.
To ensure that, like all staff, to have a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of other team members and children within Yorkies in accordance with the health and safety policy.
9.
To work within the policies agreed by Yorkies Management Committee. (provided at the induction stage)
10.
To be flexible during each school holiday time to work varied hours (between 8am-6.00pm on a weekly timetable)

To work with complete confidentiality in matters of staffing and children and to ensure that data protection policies are met, and to ensure compliance with policies regarding mobile phones, computers and social media.
To be trained in understanding the importance of Safeguarding all children and to use the setting’s system to record and monitor
13. To undertake any other duties, depending on skills or competency, to enable the efficient running of Yorkies Daycare, as agreed with, or requested by, the Manager or Yorkies Management Committee.
14. Provide guidance and support to other team members in using Tapestry, in particular new members of staff.
15. To actively contribute to Yorkies staff meetings and planning meetings.
16. To be a part of the team to ensure all resources are well stocked and accessible for the children to access.
