What will you do?

As a UX Designer, you will be involved in the design and development of a range of products, as part of the growing UX team. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, SMEs, consultants, Scrum teams and users, you will help design user-centred products consistent with our overall UX strategy. You will lead the user-centric research and definition phases of projects, and create prototypes which reflect your in-depth findings. You will also constantly collaborate with the UX team to establish UX strategy, create cross-product patterns, support and critique each others’ work, and evolve the design direction of our products.

Your skillset

Building the right thing for the client and users is at the heart of what we do, and so your skillset should focus on discovery, definition and creative ideas. You are autonomous but collaborative, and love building delightful experiences.

Strong visual design skills and prototyping in Figma are essential, and working knowledge of CSS and UI implementation is a benefit.

**The role**:
Driving Engineering excellence isn’t just about developing great UX; it’s also about promoting engineering methods that promote high quality. You’ll contribute to teams in reflecting on what went well and what we could have done better, and then turning those reflections into learning activities. You will be proud of the solutions you and your team create, and actively promote collaborative ways of working in a cross-functional product team.

Your responsibilities will be to:

- Help define the user experience and strategic evolution of several intertwined product suites to push the boundaries of Insurtech
- Work with users, product owners, technical product managers, SMEs and users to perform UX research and convert business requirements for products or features into visual and interaction definitions (e.g. wireframes, personas, user journeys) and designs (wireframes, prototypes, requirements), and iterate these designs in an agile context considering technical limitations and user feedback.
- Define UX requirements at epic, feature and user story level, bearing in mind technology and project constraints, and conforming with a set of corporate branding guidelines
- Review the deliverables produced by the development teams and provide feedback as appropriate on the quality and usability of the UX implementation
- Contribute to the evolution of the UX function within the organization, working with the Head of UX and other UX designers to roll out processes, patterns, best practices and tools in line with developments in the UX industry

**Qualifications - External**

**The requirements**:
The essential skills/experience for this position are:

- 7+ years as a hands-on UX designer working in an Agile environment across a range of commercial enterprise-level B2B products,
- Solid, demonstrable UX process and end-to-end UX skills:

- Discovery and definition: Excellent research and workshop facilitation skills, with a view to eliciting user requirements via User Journey workshops, guerilla testing of prototypes and user testing of products in development
- Visual design: Proven ability to produce creative and original designs whilst conforming with a UX strategy aligned with corporate branding guidelines
- Appreciation of current and emerging UX trends along with their potential benefits and limitations
- Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards whilst being pragmatic and delivering at pace against ambitious deadlines
- Strong presentation and verbal/written communication skills
- Hands-on experience with Figma, Miro and visual design tools (Adobe)
- A self-starter with initiative, and the ability to work autonomously but collaboratively
- Experience with the agile software development lifecycle in a commercial/production environment
- Ability to influence product managers and development teams - can justify design decisions through solid reasoning based on UX principles, user research, and product knowledge
- At ease working in a UX and project team environment, can provide and receive constructive criticism
- Degree-educated in a design discipline (Human Factors, Design, Architecture)

Other highly desirable, but not essential skills are:

- General knowledge of the Insurance Industry
- Familiarity with WCAG and ADA guidelines for accessibility
- General knowledge of HTML & CSS, with hands-on coding or editing ability to develop production-level assets for use within product releases
