**Overview of the role**:

- Assist Group Health and Safety in delivering effective risk management within the business, including ensuring risk reduction and mitigation measures are implemented and there is appropriate emergency preparedness
- Ensure compliance to HS&E legal requirements, JCB policies and international WH&S management standards
- Monitor HS&E performance trends to propose objectives and improvement plans for managers to implement
- Develop and deliver a risk based assurance plan within the business and in support of other businesses
- Identify HS&E competence requirements
- Assist business in both internal and external audit plans and scheduling.
- Assist in the investigation of WHS&E incidents, near misses and hazard spots and follow up improvement actions
- Assist management in changing the HS&E culture and provide effective HS&E governance within the business

**About you**:
The Group WH&S Advisor will d be enthusiastic, show commitment and have a sense of urgency and passion for continual improvement and best practice in WH&S. They will be able to represent the business successfully with internal and external stakeholders, possibly with support from more senior colleagues. They will be influential with their peers and middle managers, but may need support to influence at senior level or externally.
