**JOB DESCRIPTION**
We are looking for a Vice President to join the Technology, Media, Telecoms (TMT) Credit Risk team within Wholesale Credit Risk EMEA, with a primary focus on venture capital and private equity backed clients in the Innovation Economy.

You will work closely with business partners across the region including Coverage (Client, Sponsor and Industry), Debt Solutions, Debt Finance Group, Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, Asset Based Lending, Capital Markets, M&A, Treasury Services and Trade Finance.

The role will benefit from flexible work arrangements, including work-from-home.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead in-depth due diligence processes and oversee the production of credit memos with clear recommendations.
- Oversee the production of financial models, running multiple scenarios from which conclusions can be made
- Steer deal processes and teams (comprised of more junior credit colleagues as well as senior business partners) to ensure that transactions are structured to ensure an acceptable risk / reward balance to JPM
- Be responsible for recommending and approving the extension of credit across a variety of products provided by JPM, with the expectation of escalating effectively and early to the extent the transaction falls outside of your personal approval authority
- Think and act strategically, anticipating emerging issues and then driving appropriate actions that mitigate the impact to JPM
- Liaise with other internal departments and external Counsel to successfully negotiate and execute the relevant legal documentation (IE/LF LMA, ISDA & CSA)
- Take personal responsibility for the ongoing pro-active management of the credit exposure across a portfolio of clients.
- Demonstrate sound understanding of J.P. Morgan’s Risk management policies and be comfortable dealing with various stakeholders (including Regulators and Auditors)
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of more junior team members

**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Previous experience in roles with relevant skills for this position
- Strong **quantitative and qualitative analytical skills**, with a ‘hands on’ approach to digging into the details of credit and structure
- Ability to make sound decisions in a high pressure environment
- First rate **project management skills** and demonstrable end to end ownership of work/projects
- Be able to establish credibility and trust with clients, internal business partners, product specialists and credit officers, and to partner with them effectively
- Proven **people management, coaching and development abilities**:

- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Self-starting, result-driven, multi-tasking, risk-reward mindset and adaptable to change given the dynamic nature and timing of workflow
- Documentation knowledge
- **Excel modelling proficiency**

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Previous experience as a Senior Credit Officer
- Knowledge of the Innovation Economy and developing trends in the UK and European VC market
- Familiarity with venture lending structures (venture debt, recurring revenue lines, ABL) and managing/monitoring credit exposure for VC/PE backed clients
