**Brief Description**:
To implement and monitor agreed strategies for commodity area including development of individual contracts and undertaking procurement, negotiation and contracting.

**About the role (External)**:
**Key Accountabilities**

1. Management of strategic stock levels for all parts for Fleet and Engineering rolling stock working in conjunction with the Inventory Manager for distribution of parts.

2. Manage receipts of goods in accordance with Network Rail Standards and Procedures.

3. Run daily inventory usage reports.

4. Carry out daily physical stock counts.

5. Label and identify stock with NR numbers and weights and dimensions.

6. Accurately manage records of goods with all relevant paperwork and electronic systems maintained including photos.

7. Maintain a high level of tidiness and good housekeeping practices in stores areas.

8. Work to lean processes.

9. Monitor and report the use of stock, identifying improvements where appropriate and sharing best practice in a way of delivery business improvements.

10. Replenishment of stock in a timely fashion to maintain agreed stock levels to mitigate against risk of unavailable parts.

11. To liaise with suppliers to understand obsolete and superseded parts and lead times.

**Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications**

Essential
- Substantial experience in a stores environment with the ability to prove effective management of large stores and stock.
- Excellent planning and organisational capabilities.
- Strong communication skills.
- An authorised UK driving license.
- Computer literate with knowledge of relevant stock handling software.
- A good understanding of commercial processes and being financially astute.

Desirable
- It would be beneficial to have knowledge of IBM Maximo.
- Some experience in the railway industry
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) competency.
- Safe use of mobile plant - counter balance forklift or telehandler.
- Manual handling and working at height.
