Virtual Challenges Officer

Job description
We are looking for a temporary Virtual Challenges Officer with excellent organisation skills to to join us for four months, helping to deliver our portfolio of virtual fundraising challenges (Facebook Challenges) as we scale these up to raise transformative funds for Prostate Cancer Research.
We are looking for someone who cares about great supporter experiences, who is proactive in their approach to project management and thrives off the opportunity to hit the ground running in an ambitious and supportive team. You will work closely with the Senior Events & Community Manager, the Events & Community Officer and the Events & Community Assistant. You will receive the training and support needed to succeed in this role and will also get exposure to the full range of our events & community fundraising portfolio.
**Key Responsibilities**
Event management and support
- Take a leading role in the delivery of PCR’s virtual fundraising events (Facebook Challenges).
- Create and follow action plans for Facebook Challenges.
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and third-party organisations.
- Ensure all Facebook Challenges promote PCR’s brand and have a strong connection to people affected by prostate cancer.
- Work with the team to analyse event performance based on KPIs & feedback, and suggest changes or improvements.
- Support the Events & Community team with other events and fundraising activities as required.
Stewardship***
- Provide a high level of supporter care, understanding the connection between engagement levels and the relationships, income and awareness raised for PCR.
- Help to improve and deliver our supporter journeys to create a great experience for Facebook Challenge participants.
Strategy and development
- Always have an eye on new opportunities and inject new ideas into the projects you are working on.
- Be proactive in self-development and openness to learning.
- Attend and contribute to team and office meetings, sharing new ideas, learnings and things that might be useful for the wider team.
Marketing and communications
- Support the Events team with the creation and delivery of relevant marketing plans.
- Gain an understanding of our target audiences for Facebook Challenges and tailor materials, content and paid advertising towards them.
- Liaise with external paid marketing consultants to meet agreed goals.
- Analyse and track marketing performance and make improvements based on findings.
Administration and database:
- Carry out supporter and financial data processing, including on our CRM database Access/ ThankQ.
- Carry out participant administration, including managing stock fulfilment.
- Ensure Facebook Challenges are delivered in line with fundraising law & regulations and PCR’s policies.
- Attend any relevant training and webinars to improve knowledge of the database and data compliance.
**Skills and Competencies**
- An understanding of the importance of good supporter care (or customer service), and experience of providing this in a supporter (or customer) facing environment.
- A willingness to get stuck in, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Excellent organisation skills and an ability to identify the best use of time to complete day-to-day tasks.
- Good project management skills and a results-driven attitude.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, including written and on the phone.
- Very good attention to detail.
- Good IT Skills and (ideally) experience of using a CRM database.
- An understanding of digital fundraising and virtual challenges (even better if you are familiar with Facebook Challenges).
- A strong belief in the work we do at PCR.
