**More about the role**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person able to provide a first class service to customers at Ampthill Library. You will deliver a high level of customer service and interact effectively with a wide range of people on a daily basis. The day-to-day duties include: assisting customers to use our self-service terminals, finding books and information for customers, taking part in promotional activities for both children and adults, and dealing with library stock. You will actively promote and encourage the use of the Library,

You will help to deliver a vibrant, high quality, relevant and sustainable library service by contributing to Library Strategy priorities, engaging with new and existing customers and helping to increase library usage, and supporting the continuing modernisation and transformation of this important service.

Experience of working with the public in front-line customer service, IT skills (GNVQ level 2 or equivalent), and an interest in books, reading, and information are essential. While experience of working in a library would be advantageous, more importantly, you will bring your enthusiasm, great communication skills, and excellent customer service.

Although you will be based at one library, you must be able to work flexibly at other libraries if required.
