Sunderland, United Kingdom Connect Health Full time

**First Contact Practitioner (Physiotherapist)**

**Fixed Term**

**Full & Part Time**

**Up to £48,500**

**South Tyneside**

**About the role**

South Tyneside MSK Physiotherapy Service are looking for experienced MSK Physiotherapists that can work in our pioneering FCP clinics to deliver quality clinical care for patients. We are part of a forward looking PCN network and work collaboratively forthe good of the local population we service. Social prescribing, MECC, personalised care and integration with link workers and the voluntary sector are all key to this services success and our team philosophy.

We hold both the FCP contract and the MSK service contract so you will be fully integrated in the primary care MSK offering. After a successful pilot we launched our service in January this year with a team of 9 covering 3 full time equivalent roles. Wehave been successful enough to have another 3 roles requested by the PCNs.

We have a mix of skills within this team with Senior Physiotherapists and experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapists so you will be well supported. We also have 3 HEE-recognised FCP Supervisors to support the development and sign off of the cliniciansin line with HEE requirements for the FCP Roadmap.

You will receive full training and support for this role. It is desirable you have completed the Stage 1 of the roadmap but this is not essential as we can put together a bespoke plan to accommodate the right person if they demonstrate the right competencyand values for the role. IRMER and diagnostic skills can be part of your development plan.

We take part in shared education events with our GP and AHP colleagues including the FCP podiatrists and Pharmacists locally. Flexible working is always considered within 5-day working around extended hours.

Our FCP service has been showcased on the National stage as part of an online discussion regarding FCP provision; a soon to be released podcast appearance for Ockham Healthcare in collaboration with the PCNs highlights out ethos and early success and wehave an award nominated poster presentation at the up-and-coming PhysioUK on our pilot data.

**Who we’re looking for**

We are looking for well-organised and experienced MSK Physiotherapists who buy in to our philosophy and want to deliver quality clinical care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Whilst undertaking comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patientswith a wide variety of physical and emotional needs, you must deliver specialist advice and early interventions making sure that you interact appropriately with your primary care colleagues to communicate potential non-MSK conditions in a timely fashion.

You’ll be positive, constructive, and approachable, along with being registered with the HCPC, a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and a fully qualified Physiotherapist. We’re looking for you to manage a varied caseload of MSK patients,as well as the ability to work under pressure and being committed to CPD.

You should have the desire to facilitate improvement in yourself and the service. You will have excellent and confident communication skills with both patients and colleagues alike.

You may have experience of working within the NHS, Public or Private Sector, bringing transferrable skills to Connect.

You’ll be positive, constructive, and approachable and carry out tasks with fairness and integrity at all times; along with being well organised, conscientious, and capable of working collaboratively with the Primary Care Team.

The majority of clinical diaries and patient notes are administered electronically and as such you’ll have good IT skills and be willing to embrace innovation and technological advances that improve service delivery.
