Hrgo are looking for a Road Freight Forwarder for our client based in Dover. You will receive enquiries from new or existing clients, ensuring their requests are fulfilled in a timely manner, delivering on customer satisfaction, to secure further businessopportunities in the future.

You will be required to negotiate best rates & options with selected and authorised carriers and sell to clients. Consideration of any special requirements, such as nature of cargo, customs documents, or specialist equipment requirements.

Key tasks for the job as a road freight forwarder, include being able to raise quotes, provide reliable transit times and maintain excellent levels of communication with clients at all stages of the shipping process. A particularly important aspect of therole is keeping clients informed as to the status and physical position of their consignments.

Duties include.
- Recommend shipping solutions to minimize cost (or environmental impacts where possible).
- Select shipment routes, based on nature of goods shipped, transit times, or security needs.
- Determine efficient and cost-effective methods of moving goods
- Reserve necessary space on trucks.
- Checking carriers are on authorised carrier list or obtaining relevant documents to add them to the list and ensuring all required checks are made.
- Complete shipping documentation, such as including CMR notes, packing lists or customs documentation where required.
- Keeping clients up to date.
- Checking on collections / deliveries for current day (updates from haulier)
- Quoting clients using procedures set by line manager
- Ensuring all invoicing is done for current day / costs are correct system
- Proof of delivery and file closures to be managed by forwarder.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager
