IT Business Partner

The business partner(BP) role is a key function in the clinical engagement function of the IT dept and will report directly to the head of clinical engagement. The business partner will interface directly with UHSx services and staff to understand services aspirations and also their digital pain points. The BP will actively spend time in the services to provide a bridge between IT and the clinical teams.
The business partner will ensure services are aware of and harness existing as well as new or incoming digital capabilities.
In this role the IT Business Partner will have leadership responsibility for ensuring
integration of department and service needs into the work of the IT department. This
will involve extensive engagement across the IT Department and the post holder will
have a mandate to work in all areas in order to achieve results.
An IT Business Partner is expected to self-manage their time and workload, to know
when to escalate issues and to be able to work across a diverse portfolio of activities
at any one time.
The post holder will engage with Trust department clinical leaders, business managers
and system administrators to create alignment between clinical and corporate
business objectives and their IT delivery plans. The post holder will interpret and
review requirements and analyse the existing IT environment to create a road map of
activity which will meet the needs of the clinical department - or provide them with
options for review, and to agree delivery plans.
The post holder will ensure early engagement with department clinical and operational
and system administrators to help identify and scope requirement specifications for
systems enhancements, changes, replacements and retirements. They will contribute
to the development of business cases and procurement activities.
To assist the Head of IT Clinical Engagement in the line management of senior
technical staff including appraisals and other management administrative duties.

Main
**Responsibilities**:
Communication
1. Liaise appropriately with external product suppliers and contractors, and with
other NHS and Social Care organisations, departments and divisions to ensure
that customer needs are met and that technological solutions are appropriately
matched to current and planned infrastructure plans and IT strategies.
2. Present complex information clearly to colleagues at all levels.
3. Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times and that staff adhere to
GDPR, Freedom of Information Act and the Caldicott Principles.
Service Delivery and Improvement
1. Ensure resource plans are developed with the departments which are fully
aligned to the Trusts strategic and operational needs.
2. Attend IT operational meetings where operational services status and
requirements for new work requests are discussed
3. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key Trust
stakeholders to support timely and effective decision making.
4. The post holder works with clients, suppliers and department functional leads to
seek to continuously improve the effectiveness of the service delivery and to
build capability for the future.

within the established risk process
